Women in Afghanistan are fearing their lives under the Taliban rule which they had got rid of twenty years ago. They could have never imagined that they would have to face the Taliban again which will ruin the progress they have made in all these years which will keep them from living a normal life.

The Afghan government at the time had established schools, universities to promote education amongst women and later went on to establish a new constitution that allowed women to vote. 

Women had rights to study in colleges, take jobs, run businesses etc

Though Afghanistan was more of a peaceful nation, it was however guided by the US and the Soviet Union. There was a small amount of period where there was peace in the country, they had buildings with amazing designs and burqas had become an option for women

Afghanistan was ruled by the Taliban 1996-2001 and strict sharia laws were imposed which meant that women could no longer go to colleges or schools or have their own business. Women were forced to cover their faces and could only leave the house accompanied by a male member. Those who broke the rules had to go through public humiliation and beatings.
