'Betaal': Shah Rukh Khan's new web series promises zombie warfare with a twist; here's what we know

The shoot of Shah Rukh Khan's second digital production 'Betaal' wrapped up a few days back and the superstar called it as a 'very scary' show.

Shah Rukh Khan has ventured into digital space this year and his first outing is web show Bard of Blood produced by his home banner Red Chillies Entertainment. The show stars Emraan Hashmi, Kirti Kulhari, Vineet Kumar Singh, Jaideep Ahlawat, Amyra Dastur and Sobhita Dhulipala in the leading role. The show is based on the book The Bard of Blood written by Bilal Siddiqi and it's directed by Ribhu Dasgupta. It will be streamed on September 27, 2019.

Even before his debut digital production made it to the screens, Shah Rukh announced two more series - Betaal and Class of 83. Talking about Betaal, it's a horror zombie-based show and the superstar in a recent interview with Rajeev Masand described it as 'very scary'. The show is helmed by Radhika Apte starrer Ghoul fame Patrick Graham along with Nikhil Mahajan.

Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming Netflix series is titled Betaal and it's mostly of a horror genre. Talking about the show, the OTT platform released a statement which read as, "A remote village becomes the theatre of a breathless battle when a two-century-old Betaal, a British Indian Army officer, and his battalion of zombie redcoats are unleashed. With Indian police pitted against the undead army, hapless villagers are trapped in a horrific, edge-of-your-seat conflict."

Patrick Graham, who had directed Radhika Apte starrer Ghoul is also helming Betaal along with Nikhil Mahajan. Talking about the project, he said, "Indian legend is filled with tales that thrill, chill and bring the audience to the edge of their seat.
