Do you think H1 N1 issue is over-hyped in India?
The virus that gripped the world is now in the city. But doctors say there is no need to panic.

All the cases that have been reported in India are the people who have travelled from abroad. None of them have origin within the country. Which is a good think that means India is not become one of the main centre of the virus. I have known people who have travelled abroad and nothing has happened to them

Swine flu has become a joke now, anyone who has cough or any other symptom regarding this influenza thinks they have swine flu. WHO has raised the level of influenza pandemic alert from phase five to phase six keeping in mind the countries that have been greatly affected. In India it’s very well under control.

In my summer break I had gone to South Korea as well as to America and I was fine. I did have the symptom that was the usual cough and cold. But it wasn’t serious and I cleared the entire test. Precaution is better then cure, but there is no need to get too hyper about this virus.

Swine flu can become serious infection if one travels abroad or to countries affected by H1NI virus. In India it hasn’t become such a serious problem because not many Indians eat pork. So I think we are safe as of now. And also because of the extreme heat, the flu hasn’t widely spread in India.

I think in India we have taken all the necessary precaution and we have experienced doctors to handle the deadly lH1N1 virus. People are so worried that they consider normal cough and cold as swine flu. I think instead of worrying about this they should go online and read about swine flu this would do good to everyone.  And I think the media too is responsible in over hyping the H1N1 virus.

Bird flu epidemic had a far greater impact in India as compared to swine flu. And pork is something that many don’t eat, so this could be one of the reasons why swine flu hasn’t spread in India. We need to relax and not go overboard regarding the swine flu outbreak that is been in the news for few months.

A hype has been created in the city over the swine flu. Besides the media reports are also to be held responsible for the current situation. There is a need to spread awareness about swine flu. But instead of that it is spreading fear among people. People just need to be a little cautious about the flu.

Though swine flu is a serious epidemic that has spread in western countries but it is hyped in India for sure. But people are more cautious because it is an epidemic. I think India can very well handle the H1N1 virus. Even checking at the airport has been tighten especially on people coming from abroad.
—Rohini Naikwadi

Initially there was nothing to worry about, but now that we have come across cases in Mumbai and Pune maybe we should be a little cautious. The H1NI virus is a deadly virus and must not be taken lightly. But as compared to bird flu the out break is not much. People must calm down.
