A majority of watchmen doze off at night
During the day, the security guards are careful and on their guard. But they are expected to be alert at night too but that’s when they generally doze off.

The guards in my building are not too particular about checking all the visitors during day time as well. They lazily sit on their chair and are not active. Also, at night, most of the guards from the neighbourhood get together and chat without least concern about the safety. Many times, I have seen them falling to sleep at night. They need to realise the importance of their job. They are being paid to guard our society and not just sit and chat.

Security guards are just display items
All the members of our society are aware that the watchman usually goes to sleep at night. Even during the day, when he is awake, he just asks one question to any strangers, “kidhar jaana hai?” After that, he doesn't know what else should be asked or done. Theft in our area is common but still the security guards are unperturbed. Nowadays, security guards have just become a display item in the building. Their fitness level is poor. I would never trust them during the time of any emergency as they are not capable of handling such situations.

Society members should try and train them
The watchmen in our building is not very attentive; he doesn’t even bother when strangers walk in.  I am clueless about what training they receive and what is their exact role. It seems as if all of the are forcefully doing their job. Proper professional training is definitely lacking. If the security agency has not given the required training, then I think the society committee members should get together and impart basic skills, this would benefit them personally and the society as well. There should be a set of norms that they should stick to without any exception.

They merely open and close gates for vehicles
We have six security guards in our society but none of them seem professionally trained for security of the buildings. They merely act as just gate keepers who open or close the gate for the vehicles. Merely keeping a stick in their hand doesn’t enable them to tackle with thieves. I wonder how they can be so careless when doing such an important job.  The security guards need to be alert all the time, but on the contrary, they are the ones who are the least bothered about the security of the society. They should take their job seriously.
