Kings XI Punjab win by 8 wickets

Five wins on the trot and KXIP move up to the fourth spot. KL Rahul's words at the toss is exactly what his team did.

They picked three early wickets, had to bear the brunt of the Morgan-Gill counter-attack, but after Morgan's downfall, the Knight Riders were always behind.

The leggies spun a web in the middle overs and Jordan-Shami duo was brilliant at the death to restrict KKR to an under-par score.

10:52 PM

Gayle departs for 51

A wicket, but too late for KKR. An off-speed short ball at 121.9kph, Gayle arches his back to glide it away. The ball pops up off the glove and settles into the hands of Prasidh at short third man.

Nicholas Pooran, the left-handed bat, comes to the crease.

10:37 PM

Special IPL 50 for Mandeep Singh

6th IPL fifty for Mandeep Singh. A very full ball, Mandeep squirts it to mid-wicket off the inner half and the single brings up Mandeep's fifty.

He looks heavenwards as he lifts his bat. A tribute to his father who passed away a few days back.

The batsman gets a standing ovation from his team-mates and an applause from Gayle.

Chakravarthy sends KL Rahul for 28

Big wicket KKR were looking for. Chakravarthy is on a role as he recieves his first national call up. He now gets the wicket of the Orange Cap holder.

A quicker delivery that spun back, beat Rahul on the flick, beaten for pace, impact in line with middle and leg, but with the ball turning there was a bit of doubt.

Chris Gayle, left handed bat, comes to the crease.

2nd Innings

KL Rahul and Mandeep Singh at the crease. Pat Cummins to start the attack for KKR.

KKR lose 9 wickets and set 150 runs target

Mediocre batting display by Kolkata Knight Riders. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals. From 10/3 - Morgan and Gill helped them fightback with an 81-run partnership.

The KXIP leg spinners were absolutely amazing in the middle overs as they took three wickets and conceded just 47 runs in their 8 overs.

Gill was the top scorer for the Knight Riders with his knock of 57.

Sunil Narine BOWLED by Chris Jordan

KKR's innings falling apart! The extra ball by Jordan got him a wicket. It was a slower one outside off and Narine had to reach for it. Extends his bat to have a go and ends up getting an inside edge onto the stumps.

Kamlesh Nagarkoti, right handed bat, comes to the crease.

Bishnoi gets breakthrough, Morgan departs for 40

After starting well, KXIP faced the wrath of Captain Morgan. However, Ravi Bishnoi does the job. Ita a smart catch in the deep and a brilliant cameo from Morgan comes to an end.

Sunil Narine, left handed bat, comes to the crease.

07:43 PM

Just the start for KXIP, DK departs

Shami gets his second. DK has been given OUT caught behind and he went for a review straightaway. It's a fair delivery and there's a definite sound.

UltraEdge in and there's a spike when the ball went past the bat. 'Clear spike', says the third umpire and Karthik goes.

Eoin Morgan, left handed bat, comes to the crease.

07:40 PM

Shami gets the second, Tripathi goes for 7

Edged and caught! Superb delivery from Shami. He got seam away after pitching outside off, Tripathi doesn't committ fully and played with an open face. It finds the edge and KL does the rest

Dinesh Karthik, right handed bat, comes to the crease.

07:32 PM

Maxwell strikes, Rana departs for duck

Just the start KXIP needed. A first-baller for Rana, and Maxwell does his job. Not a great delivery as it is slower and drifting down leg.

Rana looking to help it on its way, doesn't get anywhere and played the sweep a too early. It lobbed off the top-edge and it's a dolly for Gayle at short fine leg.

Rahul Tripathi, right handed bat, comes to the crease.
