PM Awas Yojana brings relief to homeless in JK’s Rajouri

Around 12,000 people got first instalment of Rs 50,000 under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) for construction of houses in J&K’s Rajouri district. The construction of houses is a big relief for underprivileged in the region. Locals hailed efforts of J&K and Central Government for helping them to get ‘pukka’ houses. While speaking to ANI, the Assistant Development Commissioner in Rural Development Department of Rajouri, Sushil Kumar Khajuria said, “It is a big relief for poor as they can live safely in Pukka houses.” Speaking to ANI, a local, Mohd Razak expressed delight after receiving first instalment for house construction under the housing scheme. He said, “J&K Government has helped us a lot by giving money to construct concrete houses. We use to face a lot of problems living under thatched roofs, especially during rains.”
