Prime Minister Narendra Modi responded to the debate on the motion of thanks to the President's address in the Lower House of Parliament on Thursday.
President Ram Nath Kovind addressed a joint sitting of both the Houses on January 31, the opening day of the Budget Session 2019. Though the motion was moved in the Rajya Sabha, the discussion could not be started due to pandemonium in the House. The Upper House was adjourned for the day after discussions over the roster system for reservation in educational institutions failed to take off.
Modi while addressing to the Lok Sabha, condemned the Opposition’s attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government over a host of issues, including alleged tardy employment generation, the state of the economy, agriculture and foreign affairs, among others, and listed its achievements in the last five years.
Accusing the Congress he used acronyms like BC and AD. “BC stands for ‘Before Congress’ while AD stands for ‘After Dynasty’,” PM Modi said.
