Kalki Koechlin's next film Margarita, With a Straw will soon premier at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) under the Contemporary World Cinema section. Directed by Shonali Bose, the film portrays Kalki as a rebellious young woman with cerebral palsy who leaves her home to study in New York, then unexpectedly falls in love with a woman activist and embarks on an exhilarating journey of self-discovery.
The trailer of the film which was exclusively released for TIFF, is very bold and considered as an unexplored territory in Indian cinema.
The film's cast also includes veteran star Revathy, Hollywood actor William Moseley and newcomer Sayani Gupta in pivotal roles.
Produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, Jakhotia Group, Ishan Talkies and ADAPT, the film will be screened on September 8.
