Mahesh-Shwetha heading for split?

While rumours of a rift have been doing the rounds for some time now, relations between Mahesh Bhupathi and wife Shwetha Jaishankar may be worse than anticipated. According to sources close to the family, one of the reasons seems to be friction between Shwetha and Mahesh’s sister Kavita regarding their role in Globosport, the celebrity management company that Mahesh runs.

A source close to Mahesh has revealed that matters had reached a point of no return between him and Shwetha some time ago and they had separated, following which Shwetha is said to have filed for divorce. While Mahesh himself remained unreachable for comment, a Globosport executive, Divya Tujeja, seemed more defensive than surprised. “I don’t think my MD’s personal life is something I’d be aware of,” she said.

For the record, even Mahesh’s own public relations are handled by his firm.
Though Mahesh being spotted with Raima Sen may be more smoke than fire, it has precipitated matters. Incidentally, Raima is one of the Bollywood stars Mahesh’s company handles. “Why am I being linked to Mahesh? That was the first time I met him. I party with so many people. I guess I’ll have to get myself a boyfriend just to stop such rumours in future,” said an upset Raima. His acquaintance with Raima may not be entirely new — Mahesh is said to have been very good friends with her sister Riya before he married Shwetha back in 2002.
