"It was tough sitting outside and watching the game but it happens. It's just a matter for us to rebound and play some proper cricket in this game," Holder, who returned to the side for this game, said at the toss.

"We all know we are capable of doing that and we have done some really good things in the past. It's just a matter for us to pull it together in this game."

Kemar Roach, back after a family bereavement, was conspicuously absent in the West Indies playing XI despite his pace and experience.

India counterpart Virat Kohli conceded he, too, would have preferred to bat first.

"It looks like a good pitch. Hyderabad usually remains the same, we're not too bothered about the toss but yes, we'd have batted first," Kohli said.
