The Indian women's cricket team proved that they are here to win when they made it to their maiden Women's T20 World Cup final.

The final is scheduled to be held at the MCG on Sunday, which coincides with International Women's Day.

The semi-final clash against England got washed out at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Thursday due to rain which got the Women in Blue into finals.

The Indian eves will face their tournament opener opponents and host Australia - who defeated South Africa in the second semi-final clash.

Harmanpreet Kaur and Co. had topped Group A with four victories in as many matches. India first stunned defending champions Australia and went on to register comprehensive wins against Bangladesh, New Zealand and Sri Lanka to enter the semi-finals against England.

This is how India's road to the finals looked like:

On February 21, the opening clash of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup was between host Australia and India.

The Indian eves kicked off the tournament in a dramatic fashion as they toppled defending champions in a tough clash in front of 13,432 spectators.

Australia had asked India to bat first and the Indian women scored just 132 runs. However, in the second innings, the leg-spinner, Poonam Yadav's magical spell in her comeback game got India to a comfortable 17-run victory.

2. India vs Bangladesh: Won by 18 runs

She was helped by Shikha Pandey who chipped in with 2 wickets to help India beat Bangladesh by 18 runs and avenge their Asia Cup final defeat.

After India's batting collapse, the Women in Blue managed to put 133 on the scoreboard in 20 overs. However, the Indian bowlers overall once again rose to the occasion to defend the total.

So on February 29, India's youngster Shafali Verma shone with a blistering 34-ball 47 after spinner Radha Yadav's career-best 4/23.

India had a seven-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in the Women's T20 World Cup.

Verma smashed seven fours and a six as India completed the chase of 114 with 32 balls to spare. They entered the semi-finals with an all-win record.
