On November 13, 2014, India's limited-overs vice-captain broke records for fun and smashed the highest individual score ever in an ODI.
The Hitman hit an incredible 264 off just 225 balls against Sri Lanka at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, which still continues to be the highest individual score in an ODI by some distance.
However, during the course of play, Rohit was dropped on 4 by Sri Lanka fielder Thisara Perera at third man off the bowling right-arm medium pacer Shaminda Eranga.
Rohit - after the minor hiccup - did not look back and went on to hit 9 sixes and 33 fours on that day as India posted a mammoth 404 for 5 batting first in the 4th ODI.
In reply, India bowled Sri Lanka out for 251 as the visitors fell short of Rohit’s score by 13 runs. Dhawal Kulkarni was the bowler who picked up 4 wickets for just 35 runs in his 10 overs.
Seeing the post by ICC got netizens remembering the legendary day.

If that catch had been taken, he would have scored this ton on some other day.

It was in his fate and he scored it.
Players like Rohit aren't bound of dropping catches.
He was on the verge of becoming a great player at that time and he proved it right.
