For many years, several female actors didn't see the 'marriage' as a tag becoming a roadblock to their acting careers. Many divas continued with their blockbuster streak even after they tied the knot and have been enjoying it like always. However, there are a few actors who took a step back from acting after tying the knot. But this doesn't mean it was the end of their career. Several former actors went on to become producers, writers, entrepreneurs and also homemakers.
Listed below are a few actors who quit acting after entering marital bliss.
1. Asin Thottumkal

Asin Thottumkal tied the knot with Rahul Sharma in 2016 and before that, her last movie outing was 'All Is Well' released in 2015.
The actor had issued a statement on her Instagram page that she has stopped taking any new assignments before her wedding. It read as "For all my media friends who still have not got the message, I'm once again reiterating that I have stopped taking up any assignments and have wrapped all my commitments before my wedding itself including my brand endorsements. Request people to stop making assumptions about my assignments and work as I'm not doing that at this stage. Had made this announcement before the wedding itself."
2. Babita

Babita married Randhir Kapoor in 1971 and soon after that she quit acting to look after her family. The couple welcomed two daughters Karisma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan. However, Randhir and Babita have been living separately for many years now.
3. Meenakshi Seshadri

Meenakshi Seshadri tied the knot with investment banker Harish Mysore in 1995. A couple of years later, the actor shifted her base to the US and quit the film industry. She is currently living in Texas with Harish and their two children.
4. Namrata Shirodkar

Namrata Shirodkar tied the knot with Telugu star Mahesh Babu in 2005 after dating for nearly five years. Her last movie outing was 'Bride and Prejudice' which released in 2004.
5. Saira Banu

Just a few years after making her acting debut, Saira Banu married Dilip Kumar when she was 22 and he was 44. However, she worked for another decade after which she quit acting to be with Dilip Kumar and look after him.
Earlier in an interview, she had said, "I have no regrets of not doing too many films post my marriage."
6. Shabana aka Neha

Shabana Raza aka Neha married Manoj Bajpayee in 2006 after which she kept her acting career in the back seat. However, in 2009, she played a pivotal role in 'Acid Factory' directed by Suparn Verma.
Earlier during an interaction with IANS, when Shabana was asked about her acting career after marriage, she had said, "I've always been passionate about acting. But I couldn't go role hunting from door-to-door in producers' homes. Maybe that was a drawback for me. After a while, when the right roles stopped coming, I withdrew from acting and was just happy being Mrs Manoj Bajpayee."
7. Sonali Bendre

Sonali Bendre married filmmaker Goldie Behl in 2002. Her last year major release was in 2004 in the film 'Shankar Dada MBBS' where she played the female lead. However, she had a cameo in the 2013 release 'Once Upon A Time in Mumbai Dobaara!'
Sonali who recently battled cancer has been very active on television by judging several reality shows.
8. Twinkle Khanna

Twinkle Khanna married Akshay Kumar in 2001 and the very same year she had her last movie outing as an actor. She starred in 'Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega' opposite Fardeen Khan.
However, she is currently a successful author and a columnist.
