Excited at the release of her song, Digangana Suryavanshi beamed with joy as she spoke to DNA about 'Tu Hi Toh Hai'. The song features her with choreographer Terence Lewis.

Digangana, who has been a child artist, and has literally grown with the industry, also spoke about the current scenario in Bollywood (a young actor's mysterious death, arrests in the case, and people making claims). The actor, interestingly, was also part of Mahesh Bhatt's Jalebi, featuring Rhea Chakraborty.

While she refused to give an opinion on working with them, Digangana did say that like most, she is waiting to see how things resolve.

Here are some excerpts from her interview:

Actress, singer, author at 22. How do you manage?

I honestly haven't looked at things through this perspective. I don't think I 'need' to manage all these out as I've always been very involved in all these mediums of expression equally. Although I've been seen acting more, I do try to showcase my talent equally in acting, singing and writing.

What made you say yes to Tu Hi Toh Hai?

‘Tu Hai Toh', definitely because of the entire team; Terence, Ash King, Palaash (Muchhal) and Palak (Muchhal). They are such a wonderful team that I was very excited to work with them. When I first heard the song, it felt so pleasant and it was such a beautiful song that I fell in love with it. I feel beautiful songs are like dreams and that's why this song grew on me and I wanted to do it.

Were you skeptical when paired opposite Terence Lewis?

I was in fact very excited because Terence is a phenomenal person. I have seen him doing and performing such amazing dance forms! So, of course, I had no doubt in him at all about the point of acting. And I'm extremely excited about this project.

You started your career at the age of 7 and have practically grown with the industry. How would you talk about the current scenario?

I believe that everyone has a different pace and there are different things that people get to see. There is always a push and pull obviously. But it has gone to another level now! I'm just waiting to see how all of this resolves out. The industry to me is not just an industry but home. I have always made my own decisions about work and have tried to maintain a fine line between my personal and professional life.

What do we see next for Digangana?

You are definitely going to see me in a lot of Hindi and South films. Hopefully, I will try to keep the artistic and entertaining element alive. And now, because of the pandemic, we have not been able to shoot. But I hope things go back to normal soon!
