Results of the All India Chartered Accountancy Exam, out on Thursday, brought smiles on the face of some students and disappointment on others.

While Bhavnagar’s Vikas Mundra secured the 3rd rank, Ahmedabad’s Manan Khokhani also did Gujarat proud by securing the 10th position. Student, however, believe that the results were, on the whole, a disappointment.  

This year, only 12.85% students from Ahmedabad passed in the exam compared to 21% who cleared the exam the previous year. Of the 741 students who appeared for the exam in two groups, only 95 passed.

Results at the all India level is only 13.85%.Mundra said the exam was not that tough. Attributing his success to his family, Mundra said that he is already working as an accountant, and that the results will help him better in his profession.  

Khokhani, who scored 529 of 800, said his success was the result of his parents and tutors’ support. He also said that it was smart study that helped him achieve such splendid results. Son of a businessman, Manan said he plans to crack the UPSC exams next.
