United has missed a lot of targets this year but Louis Van Gaal seems to have pulled a fast one as Anthony Martial, a 19-year-old wunderkind from Monaco looks set to join the Red Devils. One of the brightest young players of French football, Martial was granted permission to leave France's national squad to sign a contract with Manchester United.

Marital will become the latest big-name to leave Monaco after Falcao (loan to Chelsea), James Rodriguez (Real Madrid) and Moutinho (on his way St Petersburgh in Russia). Forced to sell after being stung by the Financial Fair Play regulations. It's surprising that United, who have been linked to so many big names, would choose to sign a 19-year-old centre forward.

Martial has only 13 professional goals in the French First Division but he has been compared to Thierry Henry, inarguably one of the best forwards to every ply his trade in the Premier League.

He was also called up for the French squad where he will be competing with the likes of Oliver Giroud and Karim Benzema. Martial has been compared to Henry because of his blistering pace and great dribbling skills which has seen him play on the wings. And he also played for the same French youth side as Henry.

In his nine years at Arsenal, he scored 228 goals in all competitions, helping them to two league titles, three FA Cups and the Champions League final in 2006. He also won the treble in Barcelona but it's fair to say that it was at Arsenal that we saw the best of the French hitman who also won the World Cup in 1998, UEFA European Champions in 2000, and the Confederations Cup in 2003. If Martial achieves even a 1/10th of what Henry did at Arsenal, he will be deemed a success. (Read: Remembering Thierry Henry -- Arsenal's greatest player of all time)
