After losing to Gujarat, Amol & co will look to make amends

PUNE: Mumbai will be looking to make amends when they take on Saurashtra after their crushing defeat at the hands of Gujarat on Thursday.

Both the teams with a defeat in their last outing will clash at the Deccan Gymkhana in the Vijay Hazare limited overs cricket tournament on Sunday. Mumbai cannot be laid back in their approach, as they were against Gujarat if they want to extend their campaign in this championship.

“We will have to rework on many aspects especially dealing with the slog overs,” said Amol Muzamdar, Mumbai captain.

After the defeat against Gujarat, Mumbai is in no mood to take their next match lightly. Coach Pravin Amre said, “Saurashtra is a strong side. They have some very good left-handers. Moreover, they are good at fielding too. So, we will take the match very seriously, as it is a must win situation for us.”

It was clear that they mean business as they took to the field even on their day off (Friday) and were back on Saturday for the work out, at the Deccan Gymkhana. “We have to work if we want to prove something, and the only way is to get things together,” said Muzumdar

Saurashtra, led by Jaydev Shah, has a tough task ahead. “We did bat well but ran out of ideas in the bowling which we are working on,” said their coach Debu Mitra while his wards were on the field sweating out.
