MUMBAI: After over 11 years of hearing the 1993 bomb blasts case, special Tada judge Pra-deep Kode has been transferred as the principal district judge of Nashik.
Registrar-General of the Bombay high court, Mrudula Bhatkar, on Monday sent a letter to the sessions court stating that 66 judges across the state have been transferred. The notification of the transfers will follow in a day or two.
Special judge Kode was currently hearing the trials against gangster Abu Salem, Mustafa Dossa and two others. While Salem is accused of distributing arms and ammunition to actor Sanjay Dutt and many others, Dossa is accused of landing arms and ammunition in Raigad district before the blasts.
Special judge Kode was also holding charge as the principal judge of Bombay city civil and sessions court before the transfer. Principal judge from Nagpur, TV Nalawade, has been appointed as the principal judge.
The transfers of judges has not only affected the 1993 serial blasts case, but also the other two pending cases against Salem.
