Heavy rains continue in Rajasthan

    JAIPUR: Incessant rains on  Wednesday continued in parts of Rajasthan as Bhinay in Ajmer district was lashed with a maximum rainfall of 11 cms, a met official said here.

    Normal life in Pali, Jodhpur, Sirohi districts limped back to normal as water receded in all the rivers and dams since yesterday, State Relief Secretary C K Mathew told said.

    Sujjangarh recorded a maximum rainfall of 9 cms followed by Gudhamalani 8, Artu 7, Phulia, Kalan, Kushalgarh and Bhopalgarh 6 cms each till 0830 hrs.

    Scattered but heavy downpour also hit normal life in Jaipur city and urban towns since early morning.

    Most of the dams in catchment areas were flowing near the danger mark.

    In the last 10 days, 21 out of 32 districts received 60 per or above rainfall, while nine district received 20 to 59 per cent of rainfall, and two with normal rainfall up to 20 per cent, the official said.
