Finally, Surveen bags a lead role!

She was part of the Balaji camp with ‘Kahiin To Hoga’ and ‘Kasautii Zindagi Kay’ (Star Plus) till she took a break because she realised that she was “doing the same role in all the shows.” Her character was killed in ‘Kasautii…’ while the rumour mill was abuzz that she was ousted from the show because she was becoming more popular than the protagonist Aamna Shareef.

Brushing aside all speculations, Surveen Chawla reveals that she took a break because she wanted to do something different. “I loved my character in ‘Kahiin…’ and the script demanded that my character should end. Rest are all rumours,” she says. Surveen says that she is quite excited to be part of ‘Kaajjal’ (Sony).

Here, Surveen will be seen as a radio jockey. She says, “I actually did not have to make any effort to get into the role of ‘Kaajjal’. I identify completely with the character.” So is she a follower of ‘Gannu bhaiya’ (Lord Ganesh) as she portrays in the show? “I respect all religion,” she smiles.

Talking about her chemistry with Apoorva, Surveen says, “I haven’t worked with him and do not know him personally. But I guess we look good and the pair looks fresh on-screen,” she ends.
