Aamir calls the shots with PVR

It’s official but still under wraps. And the reason for this apparent contradiction is Aamir Khan. Ajay Bijli, who is making his maiden foray into film production with PVR Cinemas has tied up with Aamir Khan Productions for making two movies, filming for which starts next year.

While the tie-up itself has been informally acknowledged, no one is ready to divulge any details about the films. Aamir is closely involved in every aspect of this collaboration, apparently so much so that no information about the collaboration can be made public unless he has personally vetted it.

While Aamir will definitely star in the first one, the cast of the second film is still being worked out. The actor will personally be in charge while PVR’s role will be restricted to co-production and distribution. “The main producer is Aamir Khan Productions while PVR Cinemas is a co-producer. So while PVR will get the pan-India distribution rights, the actor will have complete creative control over the films,” says a source. And that’s why it’s officially under wraps.
