The host’s passion for cricket renews with ‘Extraaa Innings’ next month

For all cricket buffs, the upcoming ICC (Indian Cricket Championship) Trophy 2006 is the most exciting event that will be held in India. The event, to be held in October, will be aired live on the show ‘Extraaa Innings’ (MAX).

The glamour element besides host Mandira Bedi this time will be TV stars Rohit Roy and Shonali Nagrani. They will host the entertainment segments of the show with cricket commentator Charu Sharma.

“I’m really looking forward to the event this year. When the championship was held in 2004, we shot at a London studio. It was a great learning experience. This time it will be held in the city,” says Mandira for whom cricket has turned into a passion. “The game threw open avenues for me,” laughs Mandira.

Mandira, who made spaghetti straps a style statement last time she hosted the show, will be sporting ethnic costumes this time. Refusing to divulge the name of her designer she says, “It’s not fair because the deal has not been yet signed. I just left the entire look to him and he did an excellent job.”

The live cricketing action will be spearheaded by cricket stalwarts Tony Greig, Geoffrey Boycott, Navjot Singh Sidhu, Ian Chappel, Barry Richards, Sanjay Manjrekar, Arun Lal and Donna Symonds. It will also feature John Wright, the former coach of the Indian cricket team.
