Some films have a lasting impact on our mind, while others inspire us. However, not everyone drawing inspiration from films have a success story to tell — some may help ideate on probable crimes. Case in point would be a Telangana woman who got inspired by Telegu film Yevadu and decided to kill her husband. Not just that, taking inspiration to a whole new level, the woman defaced her paramour (just like in the movie) to help him pass off as her deceased husband.

Ghastly as it may sound, the woman poured acid on her boyfriend's face and took him to a hospital to get a plastic surgery done, attempting to make him look similar to her dead consort. While she must have imagined a happily ever after, fingerprints on Aadhaar cards came in the way of their gruesome fairytale.

The sensational murder mystery was unfolded with the help of the police and the deceased man's parents. Twenty-eight-year-old Swathi Reddy, along with her boyfriend Rajesh, had murdered her husband Sudhakar Reddy and burned his body inside a forest.

After this, she poured acid on her boyfriend's face and took him to the hospital. The parents of her dead husband were informed that the husband had met with an accident and was admitted to treat the same. The woman's in-laws, however, found something amiss in their "son's" behaviour and informed the same to the police.

The police, meanwhile, used Rajesh's fingerprints and matched it with Sudhakar's Aadhaar details and found out that he was an imposter. This led the cops to bust the bizarre, brutal crime. Further probes revealed that the husband was murdered on November 26.

Both Swathi and Rajesh are in judicial custody now.
