"They broke our counters, pulled our sacred turban and abused us," says owner. The shop executives refused to give them a new phone in exchange for the daughter's phone which was giving them trouble.
A mother-daughter duo has been booked by the Delhi Police for creating a ruckus at a mobile shop in West Delhi’s Rajouri Garden area.
The entire scenario was captured by the CCTV in the shop and was also recorded by an employee on his mobile phone camera.
The incident took place on February 20 around 4.00 pm after the women entered the showroom and asked the authorities to give them a new phone. The younger woman was allegedly facing problems with the recently purchased phone from the same shop. The mobile clipping shows the women duo throwing things and even trying to hit the employees.
Another woman in a white T-shirt is seen entering the showroom and trying to kick and punch others.
Narrating the ordeal, Ricky Kohli, owner of Electronic Ways said that the three women entered his shop and created a ruckus, demanding a new Samsung mobile phone as she was facing problems with the recently purchased phone. “The phone was purchased around five months back and she had bought insurance as well. The service centre of the insurance company is in Janakpuri and we tried to tell them to go to the insurance company as we do not repair phones at this showroom but they did not listen. They broke our counters, pulled our sacred turban and abused us,” said Kohli.
He further added that they did not raise a hand on the women. “This is a violation of women’s right; my entire family feels humiliated, embarrassed and scared. We still can’t get over the shock of what happened to us,” he added.
The women have been booked under sections of trespassing, damage to public property, causing hurt and other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). One of the accused women reportedly works as an attendant at Agrasen hospital.
Further investigation is underway.
