Former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Savitri Bai Phule who had joined the Congress earlier this year has left the grand old party over differences with the top leadership including general secretary for Uttar Pradesh East, Priyanka Gandhi, on issues including EVM and reservation. Phule said she wanted to start a movement against EVMs and return of ballot papers. She said, "Priyanka Gandhi said EVM has been brought by us, you can't oppose it. Then I realised there is no difference in BJP and Congress. Hence I am resigning. I will form my own party."
