The foundation stone of a new Parliament building will be laid today by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. PM Modi will also perform the ground-breaking ceremony for the building, which is expected to be completed by 2022 at an estimated cost of Rs 971 crore. 2. Phase 2 local body elections in Kerala's 5 districts

Polling for 8,116 wards in 451 local bodies across Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad and Wayanad districts will be held in the second phase of local body polls in Kerala on Thursday. Voting began at 7 am and will close at 6 pm. The final phase will be held on December 14. Votes will be counted on December 16.
3. Hackers steal Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine data in Europe

US drugmaker Pfizer and its German partner BioNTech said on Wednesday that documents related to development of their COVID-19 vaccine had been "unlawfully accessed" in a cyberattack on Europe's medicines regulator. The European Medicines Agency (EMA), which assesses medicines and vaccines for the European Union, said hours earlier it had been targeted in a cyberattack. Pfizer and BioNTech said they did not believe any personal data of trial participants had been compromised and EMA "has assured us that the cyber attack will have no impact on the timeline for its review." 4. Trinamool to release 'report card' on 10 years of Mamata govt

The Trinamool Congress (TMC) will today release a "report card" on its 10-year-rule in West Bengal, with an eye on the state elections that will be held next year. It will aim at informing the people of the state about the various developmental projects undertaken by the Mamata Banerjee government in the last ten years, a TMC leader said.
5. Parthiv Patel announces retirement from all forms of cricket

Wicketkeeper-batsman Parthiv Patel on Wednesday announce his retirement from all forms of cricket.
