Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation from the ramparts of Red Fort tomorrow (August 15, 2021) on India's 75th Independence Day. India every year celebrates Independence Day to remember the valiant sacrifices of people for the freedom of India from British rule. This year the theme of Independence Day celebrations will be 'Nation First, Always First'. 

This year, like 2020, I-Day celebrations will be restricted to the public and no cultural performances, events will be staged by the children due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. All the athletes who won medals at Tokyo Olympics 2020 have been invited to Red Fort to attend Independence Day celebrations.

He had paid tribute to those on the frontlines COVID-19 workers and declared that India had a roadmap ready for the production and distribution of three vaccines, which were at various stages of testing.
