1.Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in 'Iruvar'
After getting crowned Miss World in 1994, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made her acting debut in 1997 with two films, first Tamil film 'Iruvar' directed by Mani Ratnam in which she had a double role.
The same year, Aishwarya starred in 'Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya' opposite Bobby Deol.
2.AR Rahman with 'Roja'
Music Maestro AR Rahman began his film career as a music director with Mani Ratnam directorial 'Roja' released in 1992. Since then there was no turning back for the Mozart of Madras. Mani and Rahman have collaborated multiple times and it's magical every time.
3.Arvind Swamy in 'Thalapathi'
Charming actor Arvind Swamy made his acting debut with the 1991 Mani Ratnam directorial 'Thalapathi'. The film starring Rajinikanth and Mammootty in the leading roles had Arvind as a supporting character.
The very next year, Mani gave Arvind the leading role in 'Roja'.
4.Preity Zinta in 'Dil Se'
Preity Zinta had three releases in her debut year 1998. She made her debut with Mani Ratnam's 'Dil Se' in a supporting role alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Manisha Koirala.
Soon after that, Preity was seen in 'Soldier' opposite Bobby Deol and Telugu film 'Premante Idera'.

5.R Madhavan in 'Alaipayuthey'
After a few uncredited roles and television roles, R Madhavan got his major debut with Mani Ratnam directorial 'Alaipayuthey' released in 2000. The film also marked the last film of its female lead Shalini who is married to Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar.
Since then, Madhavan has collaborated with Mani Ratnam in several hit and unforgettable films.
