Pooran has endured a tough time both personally and professionally. Now, he is considered one of the potential greats in the game but there was a point in his life when he didn't have anything and Alyssa still stuck by him as a rock and supported him at all times.

Pooran had met with a deadly accident and there were serious injuries to his knee and ankle and there were questions on him returning to his feet properly let alone playing cricket again. However, Alyssa was there every time as his support system. It took him almost 18 months to get back on his feet fully and be able to play cricket again.

The long-time lovers finally took their next step as the couple got engaged on November 17 after Pooran had come back from his IPL duties in the UAE playing for the then Kings XI Punjab.

Nicholas Pooran and Alyssa Miguel finally tied their knot and got married to each other. Captioning the post, Pooran wrote, "Jesus has blessed me with many things in this life. None greater than having you in my life @kathrina_miguel . Welcoming Mr. and Mrs. Pooran."
Alyssa also shared the post and wrote, "Ordained by Jesus Christ Beyond blessed to marry the love of my life @nicholaspooran."
