These Indian cricketers to receive annual contract of BCCI, Rahane, Pant may get A+ contract

Young star Rishabh Pant will jump a level or two in BCCI's contract and Mohammad Siraj and Shubman Gill would receive annual contract from the BCCI.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) updates its annual contract list every year. Currently, skipper Virat Kohli, vice-captain Rohit Sharma and pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah are in Grade A+. These three players get a salary of 7 crores annually. It is widely believed that some more players would join the trio in Grade A+, while young star Rishabh Pant will jump a level or two in BCCI's contract and Mohammad Siraj and Shubman Gill would receive annual contract from the BCCI.

 

1. Rishabh Pant

The explosive left-hand wicketkeeper-batsman scored 274 in 5 innings and played a crucial role in helping India defeat Australia 2-1 in the four-match series. In January Pant was included in A contract by BCCI and it is expected that the southpaw would be included in A+ category now along with Kohli, Rohit and Bumrah.

2. Mohammed Siraj

Siraj made his Test debut in Australia and impressed one and all. He claimed 13 wickets during the series and spearheaded the pace attack after injuries to seniors like Bumrah and Ishant Sharma. Siraj is yet to receive any annual contract from BCCI but it is likely that his good performance in Australia would help him earn a contract from the BCCI.

The young former U-19 star is known for his sound technique and his performance with the bat on top of the innings showed why he is a class act. Gill scored 259 runs in 6 innings and his score of 91 in the 4th TeEst at Brisbane was one of the highlights of the series.

Ajinkya Rahane is without doubt the lifeline of Indian Test team. He led India from the front in the absence of Virat Kohli. Under his captaincy, India registered a resounding win at Melbourne. Apart from this, he also marshalled Team India perfectly to salvage a draw in Sydney Test. Rahane may get the reward for his performance. Currently he is in grade A, but soon he can join the A + list and then his salary will increase from 5 crores to 7 crores.

5. Hardik Pandya

Pandya is without doubt India's finest all-rounder at this time, In the limited overs series on the Australia Tour, he performed superbly. Pandya was awarded the 'Man of the Series' award in the T20 series. Currently he is included in the grade B of the contract list, but there is no doubt that he will be able to make a place in the A + grade.

All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja can be included in the grade A + of the BCCI contract list after his stellar performance in all format of the game during Australia series. He is currently in the Grade A list.

Mohammad Shami has led the Indian pace attack from the front in recent times. He is included in the A grade in the current contract list. On the basis of his performance, it is widely believed that the BCCI may offer A+ grade contract.
