RR vs MI, IPL 2019: Captain Steve Smith (59*) led from the front as Rajasthan Royals beat Mumbai Indians by 5 wickets in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 match on Saturday.

Chasing 162, Rajasthan Royals started well but lost the wicket of Ajinkya Rahane early. Rahane fell in the 4th over to Rahul Chahar. However, Sanju Samson and Steve Smith took Rajasthan to 60 for one in the powerplay. Rahul Chahar returned to send Samson (35) back. He then got the wicket of Ben Stokes (0) in the same over as Rajasthan were reduced to 77/3 in 8 overs. 

Steve Smith and Riyan Parag added 70 runs for the fourth wicket. As Smith settled down, Parag was the one went after the bowlers and helped Rajasthan maintain a good run-rate. Parag was unfortunately run out in the 18th over after playing a brilliant knock of 43 off just 26 balls. 

Bumrah then removed Ashton Turner in the next over. Turner was out for his second GOLDEN DUCK in two matches as Rajasthan Royals were reduced 153/5 in 18.1 overs. However, Smith (59*) ensured that Rajasthan reached the target for their third win of the season.

Earlier, ​Mumbai Indians posted 161 for 5 in their 20 overs after being invited to bat by Rajasthan Royals. Leg-spinner Shreyas Gopal got the wicket of Rohit Sharma (5) in the third over. However, in-form Quinton de Kock defused the pressure as he collected three fours and a six in the very next over. Mumbai reached 46 for one in the powerplay. 

De Kock completed his half half-century in 34 balls taking Mumbai to 81 for one in first 10 overs. Stuart Binny removed Suryakumar Yadav (34) in the 14th over. Shreyas Gopal then returned to take the wicket of Quinton de Kock (65) as Mumbai were 112/3 in 15 overs.

Jaydev Unadkat removed Pollard (10) but Hardik Pandya kept adding to score and took Mumbai past 150. Jofra Archer, who had dropped Pandya twice, finally trapped him LBW for 23 in the last over. Ben Cutting finished things off with a SIX as Mumbai Indians reached 161 for 5.
