MI vs SRH in IPL 2019: Mumbai Indians beat Sunrisers Hyderabad in a 'Super Over' - the second of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 - as they became the third team to qualify for the playoff stage on Thursday.

Mumbai needed just 9 runs in the tie-breaking over and reached the target in just three balls after Hardik Pandya had dispatched Rashid Khan for a six on the very first ball. Earlier, Manish Pandey (1) was run out and Mohammad Nabi (6) was bowled by Jasprit Bumrah as Hyderabad could add just 8 runs in the Super Over.

It was Pandey (71* off 47 balls) who had hit Hardik Pandya for a maximum with 7 needed off the last ball of Hyderabad's innings to level the score chasing 163 to win.

Quinton De Kock hit a hard-fought unbeaten 69 off 58 balls and waged a lone battle as Mumbai Indians posted 162 for five in the first innings.

Sunrisers Hyderabad bowlers dished out a clinical performance led by pacer Khaleel Ahmed (3-42) and pegged Mumbai back after Rohit Sharma decided to bat first. He was ably supported by Afghan spin duo of Rashid Khan (0-21), Mohammed Nabi (1-24) and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar (1-29), while Basil Thampi (0-40) had an off day.

After opting to bat first, Mumbai Indians made a positive start with Rohit Sharma going after the bowlers. However, Hyderabad bowlers didn't allow any free runs and kept the pressure. It finally paid dividends as Rohit (24) was caught by Nabi off the bowling of Khaleel Ahmed inside the powerplay.

Suryakumar Yadav joined Quinton de Kock in the middle and started with positive shots. They added 54 runs for the second wicket. Khaleel Ahmed then returned to take the wicket of Yadav (23) and make it 90/2. Evin Lewis did not last long. Hardik Pandya played some big shots before falling to Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Quinton de Kock played the anchor role at the other end as Mumbai finished 162/5.
