From his debut in 'Kai Po Che!' to blockbuster hit 'MS Dhoni: The Untold Story', Sushant was being looked at as the next big star in the industry.
January 21 marks actor Sushant Singh Rajput's first birth anniversary post his sudden and tragic death last year.
The 'Chhichhore' star, who won the hearts of the audiences with his performances in both the small and big screen, would have turned 35 on Thursday. But unfortunately, he isn't around to be celebrating this special day with his family and fans which otherwise would have been the case.
A powerhouse of talent, Sushant's acting career was only getting better one film at a time. From his debut in Kai Po Che! to blockbuster hit like MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, Sushant was being looked at as the next big star in the Hindi film industry.
However, there were several films that the actor either refused, couldn't accept or was force out of in his career spanning almost 14 years.
So, as his fans across the nation mark the day by recalling some good memories of the actor and trending various hashtags in his name, we take a look at a few films that Sushant could have been a part of.
1. Sushant Singh Rajput: Fitoor

Sushant Singh Rajput turned down Abhishek Kapoor's 2016 film 'Fitoor' to do noted filmmaker Shekhar Kapur's 'Paani' which unfortunately was shelved.
2. Sushant Singh Rajput: Romeo Akbar Walter

Was replaced by John Abraham in Robby Grewal-directed 2019 movie Romeo Akbar Walter. Though Sushant had signed the film, due to scheduling conflicts, he was reportedly forced to quit the film. "Unfortunately, I will not be part of Romeo Akbar Walter due to changes in my prior commitments. I wanted to be part of the project because I love the story, and believe it must be told, but, that will not happen," Sushant had told Mid-day.
3. Sushant Singh Rajput: Takadum

Directed by Homi Adajania and produced by Dinesh Vijayan, Sushant had starred in 2017 movie 'Takadum' which was later shelved. The film also starred Parineeti Chopra and late actor Irrfan Khan.
4. Sushant Singh Rajput: Murli - The Unsung Hero

Was the lead in shelved film 'Murli - The Unsung Hero', a biopic on athlete Murlikant Petkar.
5. Sushant Singh Rajput: Half Girlfriend

Was offered 2017 film 'Half Girlfriend' but had to let it go because of his 'Raabta' dates clashing with the former.
6. Sushant Singh Rajput: Aashiqui 2

In 2013 was offered 'Aashiqui 2' but could not take up the film owning to his contract with UTV.

Was the first choice for 'Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela', directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. He coudn't accept the film due to his contract with UTV.

Starred in Eros International's shelved film 'Chanda Mama Door Ke', directed by Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan. The film also starred Madhavn and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in prominent roles.
