During an interaction with a tabloid, Salman Khan spoke at length about his thoughts on Priyanka Chopra Jonas opting out of his film 'Bharat'.
Since the time, Priyanka Chopra Jonas left Salman Khan's film Bharat, the superstar has been talking about it during his interviews and events. It's been almost a year since PeeCee left the project but Salman has hung on to it. She was replaced by Katrina Kaif, who immediately started shooting for the film and now it's nearing the release. Priyanka opted out of Bharat due to her wedding with Nick Jonas which took place last year in the month of December.
During the recently held song launch event of Bharat, 'Zinda', Salman said, "Thank you, Priyanka", soon after Katrina was asked about how she got on board for Bharat. While earlier during a Twitter live session, when Katrina was talking about the prep, she had said, "I had two months to prepare once we cracked the physicality and hair, everything fell in place." To which Salman replied, "Priyanka did not give us much time."

While talking to Mumbai Mirror, Salman Khan opened up about his real intention behind 'Thank you, Priyanka' comment. He stated, "Thank you, Priyanka! I will always be thankful to her. Bharat was about to go on the floors and just five days before the shooting, Priyanka meets me and says that she wouldn't be able to work in the film. Now, if Priyanka hadn't left Bharat, how could we have brought Katrina on board?"
2. Offering Priyanka a meaty role

Salman further told the tabloid that despite being offered a meaty role in Bharat, PeeCee chose to play the role of a wife, which is even beautiful. He said, "But Katrina is not playing the role of a wife and hence she is playing the character in Bharat."
He added, "While many would give anything for the film or maybe even leaving their husband, Priyanka left the film."
3. Did they talk to each other after the trailer came out?

On being quizzed about talking with Priyanka during recent times, Salman replied, "No, even after the release of the trailer, Priyanka didn't call me. Now, if she had some genuine problem then it's alright. I believe, whatever happens, happens for the good."
He also said, "She came to meet me one day and said she is going to get married and hence won't be able to work in the film. I had told Priyanka that we will adjust the dates for her. She said that she isn't sure how much time she needs for the preparation of her wedding."
4. Will Salman work with Priyanka again?

When Salman was asked if he would work with Priyanka again, the superstar said, "I would definitely work with her in the future. If she gets me a meaty role, why wouldn't I work with her? I just need to love the story."
