Singer Sona Mohapatra, on Monday, called out Salman Khan for his 'low brow' digs at Priyanka Chopra over quitting 'Bharat'
'Ambarasariya' singer Sona Mohapatra, on Monday, slammed Bollywood superstar Salman Khan for his repeated digs at Priyanka Chopra Jonas. Salman has been relentlessly taunting Priyanka in his recent interviews for backing out of 'Bharat' at the "last minute".
In his latest interview to Bollywood Hungama, Salman even went to the extent of saying that “Over Bharat, she chose USA in the ‘nick’ of time. She has worked all her life so hard and when she got the biggest film of her life, she dumped the film and got married. Hats off! Usually people leave their husbands for a film like this.” Katrina Kaif, who eventually replaced Priyanka in the movie, is often seen telling Salman to ‘calm down’ during these interviews while he talks about Priyanka.

Reacting to Salman Khan's latest comment on Priyanka - "when she got the biggest film of her life, she dumped the film and got married," Sona tweeted, "Cus @priyankachopra has better things to do in life, real men to hang out with & more importantly, girls to inspire with her journey."

"A showcase & poster child of toxic masculinity. Low brow dig at not only a woman who was not in the room but a disgusting disregard & contempt for the woman & colleague sitting next to him in the same room. Unless we call out such serial bad behaviour, nothing changes, #India," Sona wrote.
Sona was referring to a particular interview with Bollywood Hungama, where Salman interruped Katrina Kaif to talk about Priyanka while she was speaking about her role in Bharat. “When he (Ali Abbas Zafar) wrote this character originally, I was not there,” said Katrina. Salman cut in to say that it was originally Priyanka Chopra who was supposed to star in the film. Salman even went to the extent of saying that “Over Bharat, she chose USA in the ‘nick’ of time. Sona said, "Trying telling that to his fans who shadow his toxicity & are calling her derogatory names on my timeline. They meme her 10 year age gap with her husband but conveniently forget that their idol is close to 20 years older than her. Grow up, you fools, I say to them."
This is not the first time Sona has slammed Salman. In the past, the singer lashed out at the actor for his infamous rape remake during the release of his 2016 film Sultan.
