Witness the world of 'Kalank' through these stills
With an epic star cast of Madhuri Dixit Nene, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur, the teaser of Abhishek Varman's period tale set in the turbulent 1940s India has definitely got the mood right.
The teaser introduces us to the cast in this order - first arrives Madhuri Dixit as the gorgeous Begum Bahaar, then comes Sonakshi Sinha as Satya and Alia Bhatt as Roop is the final character to be introduced from the "Women Of Kalank" cast. Varun Dhawan is introduced next as the daredevil Zafar, who plays a bull-fighter, followed by Aditya Roy Kapur's Dev Chaudhary. Last, but definitely not the least is Sanjay Dutt as the "formidable" Balraj Chaudhary.
Here are seven stills from the 'Kalank' teaser that have got us all curious:
1. Alia Bhatt aka Roop on a languorous boat ride
Alia's enigmatic eyes seem to behold a zillion secrets.
2. Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit in a single frame!
After two decades, Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit will finally be seen sharing screen space in 'Kalank'. And, this one moment, even though blink-and-miss, was enough to get fans excited.
3. Alia Bhatt to play Aditya Roy Kapur's wife
The teaser has just two dialogues of which one appears during Aditya and Alia's wedding scene. "Jab kisi aur ki barbaadi jeet jaise lage... toh humse zyada barbaad aur koi nahi hai iss duniya mein," Alia Bhatt's character Roop narrates as she sheds a tear in silence. This one shot establishes that she is getting married to Dev Chaudry just to seek revenge.
4. Aditya Roy Kapur and Sonakshi Sinha
This still left many asking as to who actually is Dev Chaudry married to - Roop or Satya?
5. A glimpse of Alia's classical dance number
Madhuri Dixit had recently revealed that Alia has a classical solo dance number in the film. And, from what is seen in the teaser, this one truly looks epic.
6. Varun Dhawan's bull fight
Varun is seen in a totally different avatar in the film. As per reports, he plays a blacksmith.
7. The closing scene
With the towering Raavan effigy burning at the back, Roop and Zafar's epic union had us all rooting for the couple.
