Kalank Teaser: Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt stir up a storm

The makers of 'Kalank' finally released the teaser of the much awaited film on Tuesday. The film set in 1940s has been in the news ever since its announcement. The ambitious period drama featuring Madhuri Dixit Nene, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur has blockbuster written all over it.

It has been helmed by Abhishek Varman, whose 2 States (2014) was loved by critics and audiences alike. 'Kalank' was entrusted to the young director as he is very close to filmmaker Karan Johar. The movie was conceived by Karan’s father Yash Johar 15 years ago and was the last project he worked on. Post the release of 'Kal Ho Naa Ho' (2003), Karan wanted to direct it himself. Unfortunately, the film, which was in pre-production then, went on the back burner, but the script always remained close to his heart.

'Kalank' brings together rumoured exes Sanjay and Madhuri after a long time. It is also the fourth film where Alia and Varun are featuring together after blockbusters like 'Student of the Year', 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania' and 'Badrinath Ki Dulhania'.

Presented by Fox Star Studios and produced by Dharma Productions and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, 'Kalank' will release on April 17.
