2020 witnessed several actors making their acting comeback by foraying into the digital world much to the excitement of the fans.
2020 had several people spend most of their time at their respective homes due to the coronavirus pandemic. This lead to people making the most of their time by being on their phones, laptops, TV and other electronic devices for entertainment. Thus, 2020 was indeed an interesting year for several actors who actually forayed into the digital world. Interestingly, a few of these actors namely Karisma Kapoor, Sushmita Sen, Lara Dutta Bhupathi and others made their acting comeback too with web series debut.
Abhishek Bachchan had teased in 2019 that he will be carrying the baton from R Madhavan and will headline the role in Breathe: Into The Shadows. The show started streaming on Amazon Prime Video in July this year. Arshad Warsi is currently gearing up for the streaming of Duragamati on Amazon Prime Video but before that, he made his web series debut with Asur on Voot.
Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah made people gaga over his role in Bandish Bandits which is his digital debut. While Bobby Deol left an impressive mark on everyone by playing the role of a fake godman in Aashram.

1. Abhishek Bachchan - 'Breathe: Into the Shadows'

Abhishek Bachchan made his big digital debut with the show Breathe: Into The Shadows. The series streamed on Amazon Prime Video and the actor played the role of a psychiatrist with a split personality.
2. Arshad Warsi - 'Asur'

Based on True Detective, Arshad Warsi made his web debut with Asur streamed on Voot. In the crime thriller, the actor played the role of a mentor to Barun Sobti's character Nikhil Nair. The show is a cat-and-mouse game with a brutal serial killer on the prowl.
3. Bobby Deol - 'Aashram'

Prakash Jha's crime drama Aashram had Bobby Deol making his web debut. The show streamed on MX Player had the actor playing the role of fake godman Kashipur Waale Baba Nirala aka Monty. Both the seasons of the show streamed this year itself.
4. Karisma Kapoor - 'Mentalhood'

ZEE5 and ALT Balaji original show Mentalhood had Karisma Kapoor making her much-awaited digital debut. The series has the actor playing the role of a mother to three kids and a blogger too.
5. Lara Dutta Bhupathi - 'Hundred'

Lara Dutta Bhupathi played the role of a cop in her web series debut Hundred. The show streaming on Disney+ Hotstar also has Sairat actor Rinku Rajguru in the leading role. In Hundred, Lara's character Saumya Shukla becomes an ACP but is treated as 'downgraded cop' by her department.
6. Naseeruddin Shah - 'Bandish Bandits'

Amazon Prime Video original show Bandish Bandits had amazing star cast along with a good storyline set against the backdrop of classical music. With this show, veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah made his digital debut and played the role of Pandit Radhemohan Rathod.
7. Sushmita Sen - 'Aarya'

After teasing about her much-anticipated digital debut, Sushmita Sen's Aarya finally made it to the web this year. The crime drama streaming on Disney+ Hotstar has the actor playing the titular role who is caught in a web of lies and deceit within her family. Aarya is based on the Dutch drama series titled Penoza.
