Like all the previous seasons of the controversial reality show ‘Bigg Boss’, in ‘Bigg Boss 14’ too, we got to see some contestants who came out as really strong individuals and players from the beginning.
One such individual among the very few strong contestants that we got to see in the otherwise dull season that the makers tried their level best to spice up with twists and turn along with the addition of ‘Challengers’, not to mention the innumerable entries and exits, was television actress Rubina Dilaik.
Rubina’s journey in the show from Day 1 up until the time she was declared winner, has been full of strong opinions, ugly fights, showcasing her individuality, taking a stand, making her case, entertainment with a pinch of emotion and emotional conundrum where she had to choose between her husband Abhinav Shukla, a former co-contestant on the show, and her own opinions.
And while much of what Rubina is or one can say showcased herself to be, worked in her favour, a few pointers did show the actress in poor light.
There was of course a lot of name-calling on her part involving Rahul Vaidya, the incident of throwing water on Rakhi and also the inevitable, her inability to accept anyone else’s viewpoint. All of these were the weakest points in Rubina’s game. However, she worked right through them to make it to the top and how!

1. Rubina Dilaik beats Rahul Vaidya to win 'Bigg Boss 14'

After months of speculation and hard work, Salman Khan, on Sunday night announced Rubina DIlaik as the winner of 'Bigg Boss 14'. Rubina won a cash prize of Rs. 36 lakh and took the trophy home. For the finale trophy, Rubina was competing with Rahul Vaidya, Rakhi Sawant, Aly Goni, and Nikki Tamboli.
2. Rubina Dilaik: Highly opinionated, strong personality

There’s no denying Rubina Dilaik is one of the strongest contestants in the current season of Bigg Boss. Right from the beginning where she refused to accept the task which had conditions that she has to stay with one set of clothes for one week citing hygiene issues, unapologetically pointing out how superstar-host Salman Khan addressed her husband Abhinav Shukla as ‘saaman’, refusing to make paranthas in butter and simply writing off her husband by saying ‘your opinion doesn’t count’ to expressing how she thought host Salman favoured former contestant Eijaz Khan are just few of the many instances where Rubina showcased her straightforward and opinionated side throughout the show without an iota of hesitation that she might be judged.
3. Rubina Dilaik: An individual contestant, not just a wife

Yes she entered ‘Bigg Boss 14’ with her husband Abhinav Shukla and often tried to be in sync with his opinions and views but never did she come across as a wife who would sacrifice her ambition of winning the title just to show how great a wife she is or never did she come across as a shadow of Abhinav. In fact, she was often heard saying that if she does not play well and to her fullest potential she would not be doing justice to herself and Abhinav, who was so proud of her. When TV Czarina Ekta Kapoor pointed out how great and strongly opinionated she was but was somewhere not fully showing the viewers her emotions and opinions because of Abhinav, and later took a promise from Rubina that she will put forth her views come what may, even if it meant telling Abhinav what she felt frankly, Rubina vowed and there was no looking back for her after that.
4. Rubina Dilaik: Unafraid of the ugliest fights

Yes that’s Rubina. She was u afraid to call a spade a spade and get into a heated argument even it was with her ‘friend’ Jasmin Bhasin, political leader and former BIgg Boss 14 housemate Sonali Phogat or when the time came, with Rakhi Sawant if in her opinion the stance she was taking was right. Rubina fought her battles and her fights openly without beating around the bush or talking behind someone’s back.
5. Rubina Dilaik: A game player

Rubina Dilaik made sure that she performed all the tasks in the house with the utmost dedication and diplomacy. From impressing seniors in the farm land task to wining the Ticket to Finale, Rubina gave it her all in most tasks in the house. She always played for herself and never did she back out to make someone else win. And that is one reason why she is the among the strongest contestant of the season.
6. Rubina Dilaik: Abhinav Shukla’s wife

Rubina Dilaik effortlessly managed to show her individuality and at the same time was the perfect wife to Abhinav too. She gave him mental and emotional support whenever the latter required it, stood besides him where necessary and backed him when he was low. During the Kavita Kaushik episode, Rubina showed her emotionally strong side when she did not overreact to the allegations and rather tried to understand Abhinav’s situation. Even during Rakhi’s episode, Rubina firmly stood by Abhinav.
7. Rubina Dilaik: Confessions and vulnerability

Rubina was not hesitant to show the nation her vulnerable side. He broke down several times on the show and even made some shocking confessions like how things weren’t good between Abhinav and her and they were headed for a divorce before entering the show together. In a recent ‘Weekend Ka Vaar’ episode she revealed to Salman Khan that she had suicidal tendencies. Also, without having the fear of being judged, she said she needed a psychiatrist in one of the recent episodes.
8. Rubina Dilaik: Fashion game on point

As far as fashion is concerned, there was much dearth of it in the house this season. Therefore, we have included this point too. Rubina made sure she looked like a stunner every time and all the time on the show. So, we got to give it to her for the effort.
