Wimbledon crowd booing Novak Djokovic did not go down well by netizens.
Sports fans did have an exciting day filled with thrilling encounters. From England winnings their maiden Cricket World Cup to Lewis Hamilton winning the Grand Prix.
What was even more exciting was the Wimbledon final clash between Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer.
While each of the finals had their share of controversies, an ugly moment during the tennis match did not go down well by netizens.
Not liked much as compared to Federer and Rafael Nadal, Djokovic was clearly the second favourite during Sunday’s final at the All England Club. The largely-pro Federer crowd roared with delight with every point he won. However, they fell short when Djokovic did the same.
What was even sadder to see and hear was the harsh treatment from spectators.
1. 'Really unclassy of the Wimbledon crowd'
Really unclassy of the #Wimbledon crowd to boo Djokovic.

I get that it’s a pro-Federer crowd but the booing of Djokovic at Wimbledon was undeserved and sort of pathetic. Good, fair match.

I wish this crowd would show some respect to Djokovic #WimbledonFinal

Booing Djokovic for double faulting and questioning the umpire’s decision which is fully within his right to do so is unacceptable. As a fan of both Djokovic and Federer I am appalled at some of the crowd’s behaviour during this #Wimbledon2019 Men’s final.

2. 'Crowd at Wimbledon is so nasty'
Sorry but the crowd at Wimbledon is so nasty - no need to boo Djokovic when he’s not behaving badly etc, they’ve been so vehemently pro Federer through the whole thing you just have to feel bad for Djokovic
— Ruby Alford (@roo_alford) July 14, 2019
Disgusting for the crowd to boo at Djokovic - he’s perfectly entitled to query a wrong line call. #Wimbledon

Watching Wimbledon makes me want to break out the N64 and play Mario Tennis. I’m the equivalent to a Federer or Djokovic with Boo.

I know Federer is fans favourite at Wimbledon but can y'all have the decency to not boo at djokovic #Wimbledon

3. Naomi Osaka also had received US Open trophy in tears after being booed
In a similar incident last year, in the presentation of Naomi Osaka's first grand slam trophy, the winner was overshadowed after fans booed her after she defeated Serena Williams.
The trophy ceremony was met with a chorus of boos from Williams' home US Open crowd, who had been unhappy at her treatment during the match.
Williams was earlier given a game penalty after she angrily took issue with umpire Carlos Ramos and tournament referee Brian Earley late in the second set.
The controversial finish cast a cloud over what should have been Osaka's shining moment.
"I know everyone was cheering for her and I’m sorry it had to end like this. I just want to say thank you for watching the match," Osaka had said.
