EPL Match Preview: Manchester United look to hunt down Swansea

Revenge will be on Van Gaal's mind, as the Red Devils take on Swansea City in the Premier League on Saturday. Van Gaal's men go into this fixture on the back of five games unbeaten in all competitions. But Swansea are no pushovers when it comes to this fixture as the Swans beat the Red Devils 2-1 on the opening game of the season to ruin Van Gaal's debut at Old Trafford.

Manchester United on the other hand can draw inspiration from the corresponding fixture last season when they beat Swansea City 4-1, courtesy of goals from Robin Van Persie and Danny Welbeck who each scored two goals.

Swansea City have reasons to smile as the previous two meetings between these two sides has seen them emerge victorious with a scoreline of 2-1 on both occasions. Both those fixtures saw Wilfried Bony play a fantastic role as striker, scoring a 90th minute header to eliminate United from the FA Cup last season. But now the Swans will be without their once star striker, who moved to Manchester United's crosstown rivals Manchester City.

But there's good news for them as well, as star midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson returns to action after completing his three match suspension. Sigurdsson who scored in the corresponding fixture at Old Trafford, has called on his players to bring out their best performance as he feels that Manchester United are a settled side now compared to what they were at the beginning of the season.

Van Gaal welcomes Robin Van Persie back into the side, who missed Monday night's trip to Preston in the FA Cup that saw United emerge victorious. Van Persie has a good record against Swansea and will look to increase his tally against them on Saturday.

Both sides will look to earn maximum points, as Manchester United look to cement the third place in the Barclays Premier League table. Swansea on the other hand, are on the back of a poor run in the Premier League and they will look to turn that around with a win on Saturday.
