It could be the end of the road for the Nano project in West Bengal. The committee on land review was not likely to find a solution as the mother plant and ancillary units cannot be separated.

Just when we thought it had all been sorted out here comes another shocker. But I am not really surprised. I believe that Mamata and her brand of opportunistic politics cannot be relied on to stick to a definite stand. Sooner of later, there would have been some other problem.

It makes sense for Tata to not go ahead with a project that is not viable. If the very reasons for locating the plant in a trouble prone area do not hold, then why should Tata hang on grimly? There are other, more friendly places that are waiting for the company with open arms.consider a war?

The popularity of Rock On climbed a notch higher as its music album stood 13th on last week's iTunes US World Music page. The album has nine soundtracks out of which six have been crooned by filmmaker Farhan Akhtar

I can believe that. Farhan Akhtar has done a very good job of singing the tracks though it is clear from his live singing that digital technology had a lot to do with the finished product. This must be a first for any Indian rock album. I hope we can claim more such records.

I am sure the whole rock act that Akhtar and Co put together in the film had a lot to do with the success of its music. You can see that he has got the whole fist thumping, grimacing, yelling act together very well. The music is pulsating but is it outstanding? No, I don't think so.

Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly became the first casualty from the 'Fab Four' when the selectors ignored him for the Rest of India squad to play Delhi in the five-day Irani Trophy match at Baroda.

Selectors have always been unfair to Sourav Ganguly. This is not the first time he was not selected in a squad. He is a great player and has led India to numerous wins during his captaincy. He deserves a lot more than he is given by the Indian cricket board.

Why was Sachin Tendulkar selected? If the criterion for selection is performance then he should have been left out of the squad. Yuvraj and Sourav deserve to be in the team as much as anyone else.
