What kind of security measures are in place at Hill Road to avoid any untoward incident?

We keep Nakabandi (checkpoints) regularly, which is the most important thing to do to prevent untoward incidents. There are several teams and police personnel who keep a close eye on security and safety. We are always alert and have personnel deployed at strategic locations.

What efforts have been made to develop intelligence on suspicious movements and people at Hill Road?

We have a dedicated Anti-Terror Cell at the police station and those posted there always look out for suspicious elements and gather intelligence on them. Their mandate is to basically develop human intelligence. We also monitor the area through CCTV cameras installed at strategic junctions.

What steps have been taken to involve locals in security efforts?

We conduct regular meetings with locals and other shopkeepers to ensure they remain alert. We tell them how to react on finding a suspicious object, vehicle or person nearby. We brief them well on how to tackle such situations and how to alert the police.
