From soft ruffles to fiery shades of the Sun ruled the runway.
While each designer tried to bring their own signature styles and individuality to the ramp at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer-Resort 2019, a few trends became clear over the span of the fashion week – a majority of them in keeping with international trends for the spring and summer.
1. Big Ruffles

Styles replete with femininity, soft lines, frills, bows and tassels made their appearance at almost every show. Big ruffles, whether they were a part of a top, jacket or skirt were prominent.

2. Earthy tones

The more sober, subtle dressers will be happy to hear that neutral, earth tones like khaki and cream are back in vogue if the fashion week runways are an indication.

3. Print on print

No longer is a printed shirt to be paired with a plain jacket. Prints are worn together now, whether they are colour coordinated or simply clash to create a colourful milieu of shades and patterns.

4. Sunset shades

Terracotta shades and burnt sunset tones were seen on the ramp, whether in the fitness wear designed by Narendra Kumar or the flowing gowns showcased at the Shantanu and Nikhil grand finale.

5. Tassels

Tassels were a popular form of embellishment for several designers, as they used it along with appliques and organza or net or simply fringed a crop top with a line of them.
