SMS's results are correct: Anand Kumar

Delhi’s Apollo Hospital and Raj Bhawan say there is no Swine Flu. SMS hospital maintains Singh is infected. Do the contradictory reports hamper credibility of SMS?

Being a part of probe committee, I came to know many things regarding process of testing for swine flu. With the senior medical specialists in the committee we consider that the report of SMS hospital lab stands correct there is no doubt.

If SMS lab reports are right then the Governor was not admitted to the hospital?

I am not the appropriate person to comment on this. What I can say is that a patient can only be advised to take medical treatment, he cannot be forced to do so.

Why SMS reports are considered valid over the report of Delhi’s Apollo Hospital?  

Testing process at SMS hospital lab is followed with negative control process in which a confirmed negative sample of swab used to be tested first. When the Governor tested negative in Apollo, swab sample was again tested at the SMS lab which was again positive. On the next day also, two more samples were sent to a private hospital in Jaipur, which also showed the same result, reaffirming the SMS reports.

State is facing scarcity of qualified doctors. To meet out the situation government has announced to establish new medical colleges. How much time will it take to be them operational? 

Construction work for the new medical colleges in Alwar, Bhilwara, Bharatpur, Churu, Dungarpur, Pali and Sikar is in finishing stage. I am quite hopeful that they will start in this session. However, there would be some delay for the Barmer College.
