Watch Team USA is facing off against Team India this Navratri in a Dandiya Dance Off

What is Navratri without some good ol’ fashioned dandiya? This festive season the good people at US Consulate General Mumbai held a friendly Dandiya competition between the American and Indian staff.

What is Navratri without some good ol’ fashioned dandiya? This festive season the good people at US Consulate General Mumbai held a friendly Dandiya competition between the American and Indian staff.

Not to be outshone by the experience of their Indian colleagues, the Americans went to Dadar to rent the perfect costumes, took inspiration from Bollywood and rehearsed to take on the natives. So far, Team USA is leading the vote count.

Many Indians were awed by the expertise of the US staff and took to social media to display their appreciation. One wrote on Facebook: “I would love to vote for USA as in spite of not being Indians they danced so well n were enjoying completely!  While for us we all know Dandiya n Garba so let's honor our guests!”

Another user wrote: “Full marks to the U.S. CONSULATE TEAM, wasn't easy but you guys were just fantastic.” So who wins? We will find out today. Meanwhile, you can go to the US Consulate General Mumbai's Facebook page and leave your vote in the comments section.
