Vande Bharat Express, the fastest train in India, sets a new record with its punctuality.
Vande Bharat Express or Train-18, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 15, 2019 with much fanfare, has registered a new record in the history of Indian Railways.
India's first semi-high speed train, Train-18 began its first commercial journey on February 17 from New Delhi Railway Station to Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Lok Sabha constituency.
The train leaves the national capital at 6 am and its scheduled arrival time in Varanasi is 2 pm. On the same day, it leaves Varanasi at 3 pm and reaches Delhi at 11 pm. The Vande Bharat Express operates on five days in a week, except on Monday and Thursday.
Train 18, manufactured by the Integral Coach Factory, Chennai, became India's fastest train by hitting speeds of over 180 kmph during a trial run on a section of the Delhi-Mumbai Rajdhani route.
