Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Dr Harsh Vardhan, Ravi Shankar Prasad, among others were administered the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday (March 2). Zee News Editor-in-Chief Sudhir Chaudhary, Team India's head coach Ravi Shastri were also among eminent people who took the first dose of the COVID vaccine on Tuesday. The vaccination was done as part of India's second phase of inoculation for those above 60 years of age, and people between 45 and 59 years of age with specific comorbidities.

Defence minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday received his first anti-covid-19 vaccine shot at the Army’s Research and Referral Hospital in New Delhi.
“Raksha Mantri Shri @rajnathsingh received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine at the RR Hospital in New Delhi," said a Twitter post from the defence minister’s official handle.

Union health minister Harsh Vardhan and his wife Nutan Goel took the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) vaccine shot at Delhi Heart and Lung Institute on Tuesday morning. "I request everyone to get vaccinated. After 28 days of first dose, everyone should get their second dose. Do not worry if you experience minor side-effects, but do let your doctors know," the minister said after getting vaccinated.

Indian head coach Ravi Shastri, who is with the Men in Blue in Ahmedabad for the Test series between India and England, took to Twitter to say that he has received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Shastri wrote, "Got the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Thank you to the amazing medical professionals & scientists for empowering India against the pandemic. Extremely impressed with the professionalism shown by Kantaben & her team at Apollo, Ahmedabad in dealing with COVID-19 vaccination".

The Editor-in-Chief of Zee News Sudhir Chaudhary received the first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday (March 2). He took the shot at Yashoda Super Speciality Hospital on the second day of the second phase of the COVID-19 vaccination programme. 

Sudhir Chaudhary took to his official Twitter account to share the news. He informed that the entire process was super smooth and that the coronavirus vaccine is safe. 

The Zee News Editor-in-Chief shared a small clip of him getting vaccinated and wrote, "My 1st shot of COVID-19 vaccine. The entire process was super smooth. The vaccine is safe and I urge all of you to go for it when your turn comes."
