The Exit Polls for all the states that went into polls in the last few weeks are out now, and it's a close fight between prominent political parties. AAP may spring a surprise in Punjab.
The two prominent parties--BJP and Congress--are going neck and neck in Uttarakhand and Goa.
Over 46 per cent voter turnout was recorded till 3 pm in the seventh and last phase of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections for 54 seats on Monday. Voting started at 7 am. It ended at 4 pm in the Chakia (Chandauli), Robertsganj and the Duddhi (Sonbhadra) seats, while in the rest of the segments, it continued till 6 pm.
The districts where polls are underway in this phase are Azamgarh, Mau, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Mirzapur, Bhadohi and Sonbhadra. The voting percentage till 3 pm was 46.40 per cent, according to the ECI's Voter Turnout app. While Azamgarh witnessed 45.28 per cent voting, Bhadohi saw 47.49 per cent, Chandauli 50.79 per cent, Ghazipur 46.28 per cent, Jaunpur 47.14 per cent, Mau 46.88 per cent, Mirzapur 46.64 per cent, Sonbhadra 49.84 per cent and Varanasi 43.76 per cent, it showed.
A total of 613 candidates are in the fray for the 54 seats, including those falling in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's parliamentary segment Varanasi.
The fate of Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party president Om Prakash Rajbhar and several state ministers will be decided in this round, in which 2.06 crore people are eligible to vote.
Besides state Tourism Minister Neelkanth Tiwari, who is contesting for the Varanasi South seat, other ministers in the fray in the last leg of the elections are Anil Rajbhar (Shivpur-Varanasi), Ravindra Jaiswal (Varanasi North), Girish Yadav (Jaunpur) and Ramashankar Singh Patel (Marihan-Mirzapur).
Dara Singh Chauhan, who had resigned from the Yogi Adityanath cabinet and had joined the SP, is contesting from the Ghosi seat in Mau.
Om Prakash Rajbhar (Zahoorabad), Dhananjay Singh (Malhani-Jaunpur) as the JD(U) candidate, and Abbas Ansari, the son of gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari, from Mau Sadar seat, are contesting in this phase.
Campaigning in this phase reached its crescendo with Prime Minister Modi leading the BJP's poll blitzkrieg in Varanasi and its adjoining districts.
The state has 403 Assembly seats and the results of the elections will be declared on March 10.
Zee Exit polls indicate that BJP will end up with 13-18 seats in Goa while Congress is likely to get 14-19 seats. Goa has a 40-member house.
In Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) may bag most seats (52-61), while the ruling Congress may get 26-33 seats, as per Zee Exit polls.
The surveys show that in the hill state of Uttarakhand, the opposition Congress is likely to grab a 39% vote share, while the ruling BJP is to get a 35% vote share.
In Uttarakhand, which has been witnessing an alternative government of BJP and Congress since its formation, the ruling BJP is seeing a second consecutive term this year. As per Zee exit polls, the saffron party is winning 26-30 seats, while its rival Congress may win 35-40 seats.
As per Zee Exit Poll, in Uttar Pradesh, the ruling BJP with its alliance parties is getting between 223- 248 seats. While the main opposition party, Samajwadi Party (SP) which has formed an alliance with smaller parties, may get 138-157 seats. Besides, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) of Mayawati may get 5-11 seats, and Congress may get 4-9 seats.
The absence of former CM and a widely popular BJP leader Manohar Parrikar in these elections might be a factor in the polls. The estimated projections show that the Congress has a lead over the BJP in Exit Polls.
As per the Zee Exit Poll, it's going to be a close contest between BJP and Congress in Goa. The surveys shows that the two parties are going to grab 31% and 33% vote share respectively. The BJP has been in the government for ten years.
The AAP is also likely to grab 12% vote share. MGP alliance can also get 12% vote share.
As per Zee Exit Poll, BJP is going to be the biggest party in Manipur. As per the survey, the BJP is going to win 32-38 seats in the Manipur Assembly Elections.
All the parties are looking forward to Exit Polls to gauge the basic idea about the voting pattern. However, such surveys are not always correct.
As the last phase of voting in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections concludes on Monday, all eyes are on the exit polls which will be released this evening after 6.30 pm.
As the seventh and last phase of the UP elections 2022 is set to conclude in a few hours, Samajwadi Cheif Akhilesh Yadav linked Operation Ganga, which is the evacuation mission for Indians stranded in Ukraine, with the ongoing polls, and criticized the mission run by the Centre.

The final phase of the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections 2022 is set to conclude in a few hours, with the voter turnout across the districts picking up pace. According to official data, 35.51 percent of voter turnout has been recorded till 1 pm.
The last phase of polling in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections 2022 is picking up pace in Mirzapur and Varanasi, with a total of 21.55 percent voter turnout recorded till 11 am.
