Who wouldn't want to harness a number of health benefits simply bydrinking a mug-full of ancient potion that is easy to prepare and also tastes uniquely delicious.

The almost magical heath drink, Chi Jiduan, will increase your energy, uplift your mood and senses while accelerating your (resting) metabolism in addition to regulating your blood sugar levels. 'Chi' (also spelled Qi - in Chinese) refers to our internal vital energy.

Jiduan means 'extreme'! In an authentic Chinese method, this drink can be prepared by adding a teaspoon of ground cinnamon and black pepper to a balanced blend of Green tea (Camellia Sinensis) and Guarana tea (Paullinia  Cupana).

Organic honey can be added not only as a sweetener but also in order to add some more health benefits. Ideally, it should be consumed hot, within no more than 10 minutes of brewing it. Some people changed the version by adding milk but experts believe that most of the antioxidant properties of this concoction may be destroyed if milk is added to it while it is still hot.

Lovers of coffee and cocoa will not be disappointed either. The western version of Chi Jiduan, that may have its roots in the South American or African culture, is prepared using coffee and cocoa. It has been named 'Moto Nishati' (in Swahili) meaning 'hot energy'!
It is prepared as follows. Milk and water are brought to boil and removed from the flame. Then, jaggery, cocoa and coffee powder, ground cinnamon and black pepper are added.

I recently studied the revival and health effects of Chi Jiduan and Moto Nishati. Both these drinks have been successful in controlling hunger, elevating mood to a great extent, increasing (basal/resting) metabolic rate (that helps burn calories faster), increasing the production (and expenditure) of energy in addition to sustaining a stable blood sugar level. All these benefits directly and indirectly favour a healthy and  accelerated 'fat-loss'. Chi Jiduan and Moto Nishati can probably serve as ideal natural pre-workout energy beverages that must be consumed at least 30 minutes before exercising. If you are suffering from hyperacidity or heartburn, you should avoid these super energy drinks or try consuming it with a banana. Avoid consuming these drinks after 4 pm as being of stimulant in nature they may interfere with healthy sleeping
patterns.
